China-Russia relationship remains strong

Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Friday that the China-Russia relationship remains unaffected by external interference, maintains healthy and stable development and is currently at its best in history under the strategic guidance of the heads of state.
Guo made the remarks when asked at a regular news briefing about whether the China-Russia cooperation will be affected by recent signs of potential improvement in the relations between Moscow and Washington.
Noting that China and Russia have established a comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era, Guo said that the China-Russia cooperation does not target any third party and is not subject to the influence of any third party.
"Based on the principle of non-alliance, no-confrontation and no-targeting of any third party, China is willing to consolidate long-term good-neighborly relations with Russia, consistently advance comprehensive strategic coordination and keep deepening mutually beneficial cooperation," Guo said.
