Founding President Nujoma dies at 95
Namibia's founding President Sam Nujoma died aged 95 on Saturday, the country's President Nangolo Mbumba announced in a statement on Sunday morning. Mbumba said that over the past three weeks, the founding president had been hospitalized in the capital city of Windhoek for medical treatment and observation due to ill health. Born on May 12, 1929, at Etunda village, Omusati Region, in northwestern Namibia, Nujoma served as the country's first president from 1990 to 2005. He was also a founding member of the South West Africa People's Organization, the party that has governed Namibia since its independence.

Security clearances ended for Biden aides
US President Donald Trump has revoked security clearances for Antony Blinken, the former secretary of state, and Jake Sullivan, the former national security adviser, White House officials said on Saturday. The move came a day after Trump said he had revoked the security clearance for his predecessor Joe Biden, stopping his access to daily intelligence briefings. Trump also revoked security clearances for Biden's Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, who helped coordinate the Department of Justice's response to the Jan 6, 2021, attacks by Trump supporters on the US Capitol, the officials said on Saturday.

Dozens of civilians killed in terror attack
Dozens of civilians were killed in a terrorist attack by the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara on Friday near Kobe, northern Mali, media reports said on Saturday. More than 200 members of the ISGS attacked a civilian convoy escorted by the Malian Armed Forces, causing 45 to 60 deaths and injuring several dozens. The injured and lifeless bodies were transported to a hospital in a nearby city, the reports said. The convoy attacked by the terrorists consisted of 22 minibuses, six large buses and eight trucks. Malian authorities have not yet officially commented on the attack.
