Xi signs order to promulgate revised regulations on military equipment research

Xi Jinping, chairman of the Central Military Commission, has signed an order to promulgate a set of revised regulations on scientific research related to military equipment, which will take effect on March 1.

The regulations, comprising 49 articles in eight chapters, align with the requirements of innovatively building a modernized weaponry and equipment management system for the new era, according to an official statement on Wednesday.

The regulations set rules for the quality control, cost management, acceptance procedures, support measures, and safety and confidentiality issues of relevant work.

Premier presides over State Council meeting on draft government work report

Premier Li Qiang on Wednesday presided over the seventh plenary meeting of the State Council to discuss a draft government work report, which will be deliberated at the top legislature's annual session in March.

Li said it is necessary to respond fully to public expectations and concerns, comprehensively address the need to promote high-quality development, and revise the report further.

Faced with new situations and tasks in the new year, Li emphasized the need to implement the major policies and strategic deployment outlined by the Communist Party of China Central Committee in a systematic and innovative manner.

Top legislator vows to work with ROK to strengthen exchanges, communication

China is willing to work with the Republic of Korea to strengthen high-level exchanges and strategic communication, the country's top legislator Zhao Leji said on Wednesday when meeting with ROK National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik in Beijing.

Zhao, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, said the two sides should jointly resist decoupling and ensure the stability and smooth functioning of the industrial and supply chains in both countries and the region.

The two nations should promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges, properly address sensitive issues, and safeguard the political foundation of bilateral ties, he added.

Woo reaffirmed the ROK's commitment to the one-China principle and expressed his hope to expand bilateral collaboration in areas such as trade and artificial intelligence.
