Foreign Minister Wang Yi hosted a New Year reception on Friday, expressing festive greetings to foreign diplomatic envoys to China ahead of Chinese New Year.

At the event held in Beijing and attended by nearly 400 Chinese and foreign guests, Wang highlighted the positive contributions of foreign envoys to fostering friendly cooperation between China and other nations.

He expressed confidence that these envoys will continue to be lifelong promoters of friendship with China wherever they may go in the future, becoming "old friends and good friends of the Chinese people".

China is willing to collaborate with all nations in prioritizing global well-being and transcending barriers and conflicts to foster friendly cooperation and mutual learning among civilizations to jointly create a better world, he said.

Martin Mbana, Cameroon's ambassador to China and head of the foreign diplomatic corps in China, conveyed New Year greetings to the Chinese people on behalf of all diplomatic missions.

He commended China's role as a responsible major power in various bilateral and multilateral diplomatic endeavors throughout 2024, making significant contributions to addressing the growing uncertainties and challenges in the world.

Mbana noted that nations worldwide stand ready to deepen friendship, enhance exchanges and strengthen cooperation with China to achieve common development and advance the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
