There is no winner in tariff or trade war, China reiterates

China's Foreign Ministry reiterated on Wednesday that China always believes that there is no winner in tariff or trade war.

Foreign Ministry spokeswomen Mao Ning's remarks came after US President Donald Trump said that his team was discussing a 10 percent tariff on China and that the duty could take effect as early as Feb 1.

"We have made our position clear on multiple times. We always believe there is no winner in tariff or trade war. China will always firmly safeguard its national interests," Mao told reporters at a regular news briefing in Beijing.
