Beijing, Tokyo urged to enhance mutual trust

Premier Li Qiang expressed hope on Wednesday that China and Japan will work together to enhance mutual trust and deepen bilateral cooperation, while properly managing their differences.

As neighbors that cannot move away from each other, China and Japan should strive to coexist harmoniously, Li said when meeting with a Japanese delegation led by Hiroshi Moriyama, secretary-general of the Liberal Democratic Party, and Makoto Nishida, secretary-general of the Komeito Party.

The resumption of the China-Japan ruling parties exchange mechanism is a significant step in implementing the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, Li said.

He urged the two neighbors to promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations.

The Japanese side said that Tokyo expects to carry out exchanges and visits with Beijing at various levels and in different fields this year.
