Sri Lanka's president to pay state visit to China
From Tuesday to Friday, at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, Sri Lanka's President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will pay a state visit to China.
During the visit, Xi will hold talks with Dissanayake, while Premier Li Qiang and Zhao Leji, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, will meet with him separately.
"This is President Dissanayake's first visit to China since he took office, which is of great significance to the development of China-Sri Lanka relations," Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said.
Senior officials discuss improving Party conduct, battling corruption
Leading Party members groups of State institutions — the State Council, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference — held separate meetings on Friday to make arrangements for further improving Party conduct and battling corruption.
The meetings focused on studying and implementing the guiding principles of the remarks made by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, at the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, which was held from Monday to Wednesday.
The participants of the meetings vowed to firm up their determination and confidence in anti-corruption efforts, and take concrete actions to advance full and rigorous Party governance.
Also on Friday, the extended meeting of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Central Military Commission was held in Beijing, focusing on efforts to advance full and rigorous governance over the Party and the military.
