Macron's diplomatic adviser to pay visit
French President's Diplomatic Adviser Emmanuel Bonne will be in China from Friday to Saturday, Beijing announced on Thursday. He will hold the China-France Strategic Dialogue with Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee. The two sides will embark on strategic communications to implement the two heads of state's consensus and deepen China-France cooperation in various fields. They will hold an indepth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said.

Romania, Bulgaria hail Schengen accession
Romania and Bulgaria on Thursday "strongly" welcomed EU states clearing the two eastern European countries to become full members of the borderless Schengen zone from the start of next year. "This is a historic decision, marking the end of the process of accession of the two countries to the EU free movement area, a key objective of both Bulgaria and Romania since their accession to the European Union," the two countries said in a statement.
