China fights back on chip ban
The US and China are already locked in a tech war.
The US has ramped up restrictions on chip exports to China, blacklisting over 130 Chinese companies and blocking shipments of crucial high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips.
The goal? Stop China from becoming a leader in semiconductor tech. But this move shakes up global supply chains, raising prices and creating headaches for chipmakers worldwide.
In response, China hit back hard, within just one day, banning exports of rare minerals like gallium, germanium, and antimony—key materials for semiconductors.
Will Trump go for confrontation or deal-making? China is ready for both scenarios, sticking to its "peaceful coexistence" stance— "We don't want a fight but if we need to, we'll carve out our own economic path."
