Books chronicle 33 years of reforms
Two new books recounting 33 years of reform insights and proposals by China Institute for Reform and Development were released on Friday, detailing the institute's longstanding commitment to China's reform agenda. The two books — Stand Fast to Reform: My 33 Years with CIRD and Advising on Reform: Reform Think Tank's 33 Years of Pursuit and Exploration — were edited and written by Chi Fulin, president of the institute. Since its establishment in 1991, the institute has published multiple works related to China's reform and development.
Former bank official facing investigation
Zhang Gengsheng, former vice-president of China Construction Bank, is being investigated for suspected serious violations of the Party disciplines and national laws, the country's top anti-corruption watchdogs announced on Friday. Public information shows that Zhang, 64, a native of Anhui province, had worked for the bank for more than 10 years, and he became its vice-president in 2013.
