At 6:00 am on Oct 27, the staff members of State Grid Linzhou City Power Supply Company in Henan province gathered at the maintenance site of the 10 kilovolt Shunle Line. In accordance with the autumn maintenance plan, the company's staff members were tasked with carrying out comprehensive maintenance operations on the line to address issues caused by aging equipment. The Shunle Line spans 18.74 kilometers long, covering 42 transformer substations and serving 5,000 households.

The maintenance operation differed from previous single-point maintenance tasks, as it involved the work of five teams, 31 staff members and 20 work sites, with heavy workloads and complex working environments. To address these issues, State Grid Linzhou City Power Supply Company organized staff members to conduct multiple on-site surveys in advance. They defined work tasks, developed maintenance plans and deployed maintenance work. Some of the staff prepared working materials, clarified responsibilities and completed equipment defect inspections, infrared temperature measurements, while others fully prepared for the concentrated maintenance.

By 6:00 pm that day, after more than 10 hours of hard work by more than 30 workers, accompanied by the removal of the last set of grounding wires, the maintenance operation was successfully completed. It involved replacing a total of 5 km of conductors, installing a set of lightning arresters, assembling three sets of fittings, installing six insulating sleeves and completing 11 routine defect rectifications such as reinforcement and removal of bird nests.

In the future, State Grid Linzhou City Power Supply Company will proceed with the autumn grid inspection tasks and prepare for peak winter demand for power grid equipment, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the power grid to better serve the city's residents.
