On October 22, in Lingbao city, Henan province, maintenance workers from the State Grid Sanmenxia Power Supply Company actively worked within local apple orchards, to conduct thorough inspections of the transmission lines in their jurisdiction. This effort aims to eliminate potential hazards, ensuring a clear and secure transmission corridor to guarantee the safe and stable operation of the power grid.

It is reported that apples are a key industry in Lingbao, with a total planting area of over 900,000 mu (60,000 hectares) and an annual output of 1.4 billion kilograms. Currently, it is the peak apple harvesting season. The large amount of reflective film discarded in the orchards can easily be lifted by strong winds, posing a significant risk to the safe operation of the power lines. In response, the transmission department proactively planned and developed a detailed inspection strategy, conducting hazard investigations on 92 transmission lines under its management, targeting each area, line and tower. They carried out concentrated cleanup and recovery of reflective film and other foreign objects. Operation and maintenance workers also conducted door-to-door visits to the orchard concentrated area, to publicize information about preventing external damages to local fruit farmers. Through on-site explanations and the posting of banners, they interpreted the dangers that reflective films pose to power lines and educated farmers on the importance of protecting power facilities. This initiative is designed to enhance farmers' awareness of the need to protect power infrastructure and safeguard their own safety.

Additionally, in response to recent weather changes, including a significant drop in temperature and increased power demand, the State Grid Sanmenxia Power Supply Company has also strengthened its transmission line maintenance efforts, particularly in light of the region's mountainous climate. By combining human patrols with drone inspections, special equipment checks, and infrared temperature monitoring, the company has conducted regular inspections of ice-prone lines in the southern mountainous areas. These measures help accurately monitor the equipment and operational status, ensuring that potential risks are addressed at an early stage, and guaranteeing a reliable power supply during the winter peak season.
