NEW APPOINTMENT

Jean-Marc Poli has been appointed area general manager of Shangri-La Group. Based at the China World Hotel in Beijing, he oversees the group's iconic properties in the city, including China World Hotel, China World Summit Wing, and Jen Beijing by Shangri-La. Additionally, he continues to oversee Shangri-La Beijing, where he has served as general manager since August 2021.

SEASONAL SCHEDULE

From Oct 27, Hainan Airlines will commence the winter and spring flight schedule, during which it will add new flights and increase the frequency of flights on multiple routes. In the new flight season, the airline plans to operate nearly 500 domestic routes, covering nearly 80 domestic cities. Of the routes, more than 40 will be newly opened. Meanwhile, the airline is also to operate more than 50 international and regional passenger routes, connecting to over 30 countries and regions.

GRAND OPENING

The Jingyuan Aroma Garden Hotel opened its doors in Huangpu district of Shanghai on Sept 28. The new hotel's design features traditional culture and history in a classic and elegant style, and its operation blends Eastern wisdom and modern innovation to build new scenarios of high-quality downtown city life, Zhang Chen, Party secretary and chairman of Shanghai Chengtou Holding, which is responsible for management of the hotel, said at the launch ceremony.

ELDER CARE

Volunteers from China Eastern Airlines Jiangsu visited an elder care service center in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, on the traditional Chongyang Festival, also known as the Double Ninth Festival, which fell on Oct 11 this year. During the event, the volunteers not only brought daily necessities, cakes and other gifts to the elderly residents but also engaged in close interactions with them, inviting them to take part in fun games and quizzes, guiding them on safe smartphone usage and alerting them to online scams. It is the 15th year that young volunteers from the company have visited the center to extend their holiday blessings and wishes to the elderly residents.

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

In commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the brand, JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Shanghai Pudong hosted a signature Garden Party event as part of a series of celebrations across China, each event reflective of its unique locale.
