Hong Kong Ballet will bring its award-winning production ALICE (in wonderland) to Beijing's National Centre for the Performing Arts on Nov 15 and 16.

Choreographed by the company's artistic director Septime Webre, the production, based on English novelist Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865), has enjoyed worldwide success since its premiere for the Washington Ballet in 2012.

The production premiered in Hong Kong in 2018 to sold-out performances. Audiences in Beijing will experience the dizzying adventure when Alice tumbles down the rabbit hole and encounters a host of colorful characters like the jumpy White Rabbit, the vengeful Queen of Hearts and many more.

With captivating costumes by Cirque du Soleil designer Liz Vandal, outrageously flamboyant sets by James Kronzer and Matthew Pierce's hypnotic original score, the production showcases an array of dances that merge traditional ballet with contemporary energy, capturing the topsy-turvy magic of Wonderland and the bizarre characters that confront Alice on her incredible journey.

It will be staged in Singapore in February following its stop in Beijing.
