Xi to pay tribute to fallen heroes on Martyrs' Day
President Xi Jinping and other Party and State leaders will present flower baskets to honor fallen heroes at Tian'anmen Square in Beijing on Monday morning, on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The leaders will be joined by representatives from all walks of life in the Chinese capital, marking Martyrs' Day.
The event at the Monument to the People's Heroes will be broadcast live by China Media Group.
Concert celebrates 75th anniversary of New China
A concert was held on Sunday evening at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, which falls on Tuesday.
President Xi Jinping and other Party and State leaders, including Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi and Han Zheng, were among the over 3,000 people who attended the concert.
State Council meeting accelerates policy moves
Premier Li Qiang emphasized on Sunday that efforts must be made to implement the policies and arrangements of the central authorities, in order to achieve economic and social development goals set for this year.
Li made the remark when presiding over a State Council executive meeting, which also focused on measures to accelerate the implementation of 102 major projects listed in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) and promote an inclusive system of childcare services.
Participants heard a report on the progress of advancing the building of a strong country with improved intellectual property rights, and underlined the need to provide strong support for promoting high-quality development.
