Xinjiang railway upgrade underway

Construction work for the expansion project of the Jiangjunmiao-Heishan Railway, which aims to facilitate freight transport in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and upgrade the existing railway, started recently, with the first electric pillar having been erected by the concerned State-owned builder. China Railway 23rd Bureau Group Corp said the project includes building a second rail line between two terminals, which as a whole aims to ease pressure on the existing lines in Xinjiang.

Shanghai launches fund to foster future biz

Shanghai on Saturday announced the establishment of a 10 billion yuan ($1.41 billion) fund to nurture future industries. According to the science and technology commission of Shanghai, the fund is fully financed by the Shanghai government and has a term of 15 years that can be extended by an additional three years if required.
