Farmers reap benefits of State Grid Jinchang Power Supply's efforts
The golden waves of wheat roll in the breeze, as large combine harvesters slowly drive through the fields. The wheat ears are swallowed into the threshing box, and each plump grain enters the grain warehouse, while the crushed wheat straw is spat out from behind the harvester. This is the busy scene during the wheat harvest in Jinchang, Gansu province.
During the harvest, a reliable electricity supply is crucial. To better guarantee food security and production during the critical season of wheat harvesting, State Grid Jinchang Power Supply Co is leveraging its role as a pioneer in serving agriculture, rural areas, and farmers. The company organizes its staff to serve users in the fields, and conduct publicity on the protection of electrical facilities to ensure safe electricity usage during the wheat harvest.
The company has developed a power supply plan for the wheat harvest, which details the division of labor, clear tasks, and strengthened line inspection arrangements. The company promptly rectifies any existing hazards to ensure the safe power supply of the lines. During peak electricity consumption at night, the company conducts supplementary inspections on the lines and equipment in the area to eliminate various safety hazards and weak points in equipment operation.
Large combine harvesters shuttle back and forth through the golden waves of wheat, crossing over the fields. At the same time, the humming transformers continuously deliver electricity to every corner of the wheat fields.
In response to the increased electricity usage during the summer harvest, the company has further simplified the electricity application process and opened up a green channel. They established multiple service channels such as power supply business halls, government service windows, power stations, village network construction, and online services. The efforts ensure that rural customers can apply for electricity without leaving the village, providing a fast and convenient power service for the harvest, planting and management in the fields.
The company also organized Party member service team members, power liaison personnel, and grid members to work together in going deep into the wheat fields during the harvest. They installed warning protection signs on poles and wires in the wheat fields, added collision-prevention bars in special areas, and intensified the publicity on the protection of electrical facilities. Through platforms like SMS, safety electricity manuals, and promotional pictures, they educated agricultural machinery operators on the protection of electrical facilities.
So far, the company has visited the fields 50 times, distributed more than 200 pieces of promotional materials, and guided farmers in eliminating 11 different safety hazards in the area.
