Shanghai bourse to launch STAR 200 Index
China's Shanghai Stock Exchange said it will launch the SSE STAR 200 Index on Aug 20 to track the performance of companies listed on its STAR Market, China's Nasdaq-style sci-tech innovation board. The STAR 200 Index will feature 200 STAR market securities with small-scale market capitalization and good liquidity as index samples. The STAR 50 Index, the STAR 100 Index and the STAR 200 Index form the market's scale-based index series, reflecting the overall performance of securities from listed companies with varying scales of market capitalization, the SSE said.
New air cargo route links China, Georgia
A direct air cargo route linking Urumqi, capital of Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, and the Georgian capital Tbilisi was launched over the weekend, according to SF Airlines. Two round-trip flights are scheduled to shuttle between Urumqi and Tbilisi every week on this route, providing more than 100 metric tons of air cargo transport capacity, said the air cargo carrier. The air route will mainly carry imported and exported e-commerce goods and other general cargo.
