Expressway expansion work reaches milestone

The Shanghai-Xi'an Expressway expansion project achieved a milestone recently when major construction work on its Pingchao-Guangling section reached completion. The section includes not only highway expansion but also coordinating work with the neighboring railway. The expressway plays a key connective role in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region, said the section's builder China Railway 24th Bureau Group Corp.

Jiangsu H1 foreign trade sets record

Foreign trade of Jiangsu province, East China's economic powerhouse, reached 2.68 trillion yuan ($376 billion) in the first half of this year, a new high and up 8.5 percent year-on-year, accounting for 12.7 percent of the country's total, Nanjing Customs said. Jiangsu's exports rose 8 percent year-on-year to 1.72 trillion yuan, while imports gained 9.3 percent to 959.74 billion yuan.
