2nd mayor murdered in less than a week
A second southern Mexico mayor has been killed within a week, local authorities said on Saturday, after he went to visit an indigenous community. The murder of Acacio Flores, who represents Malinaltepec, came days after the killing of Salvador Villalba Flores, another mayor from Guerrero state, elected on June 2.Acacio Flores was detained on Thursday in an indigenous village. Since Mexico's campaign season began in September, about 30 political candidates have been killed, according to the NGO Data Civica.

Shooting at Arkansas grocery store kills 4
Police said a fourth victim has died a day after a shooter opened fire at a grocery store in Arkansas, riddling cars with bullet holes as panicked bystanders scrambled for cover. The person died on Saturday evening, Arkansas state police said, listing a total of 14 people as hit by gunfire: 11 civilians, two law enforcement officers and the suspect. Police said the suspect was released from custody and taken to a detention center. They have not cited a motive.
