President congratulates Ramaphosa on his reelection
President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory message to Cyril Ramaphosa, who was reelected on Friday as president of South Africa.
In his message, Xi noted that China and South Africa have profound political mutual trust and fruitful practical cooperation in various fields, providing a model of solidarity and cooperation among developing countries and the Global South.
Xi said that he attaches great importance to the development of China-South Africa relations and stands ready to work with Ramaphosa to elevate the China-South Africa comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level and jointly contribute to world peace, stability and prosperity.
Xi's article on high-quality development published
An article on high-quality development by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, was published on Sunday.
The article by Xi, who is also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, appeared in this year's 12th issue of the Qiushi Journal, the flagship magazine of the CPC Central Committee. The article consists of excerpts from Xi's relevant discourses from October 2017 to March 2024.
The article stressed that high-quality development is the theme of the country's economic and social development in the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) and beyond, and the first and foremost task in building a modern socialist country in all respects.
