Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC in 2012, the CPC Central Committee has identified the path to embrace the trend in the energy sector. It has proposed a new energy security strategy and promoted reforms in energy consumption and supply, market building and innovation while strengthening international cooperation on all fronts.
As a result, China has accelerated building a new energy system and continuously consolidated the foundation for energy security. This has not only provided strong support for China's socioeconomic development, but also contributed Chinese wisdom and strength to global energy security and the transition of the energy sector.
Xi's discourses in this regard are pivotal to deepening energy reform, building up China's strength in the energy sector and underpinning the supply of safe and reliable energy for Chinese modernization, Xinhua News Agency said.
