Govt workers called on to boost rule-of-law thinking
Premier Li Qiang said on Wednesday that the implementation of the Organic Law of the State Council should be taken as an opportunity to further enhance the ability to apply the rule-of-law thinking and approach, in order to advance work and solve problems.
On Wednesday morning, the State Council held a special study session on in-depth implementation of the law and solid promotion of building up a government based on the rule of law.
After listening to the lecture and speeches at the session, Li pointed out that government staff members should further enhance their awareness of the rule of law, so that government work is always carried out on the track of the rule of law.
He called for advancing scientific legislation, accelerating efforts to fix weak or missing links in legislation, and promote the timely revision or abolition of laws and regulations that do not meet the requirements of reform and development.
Top legislator meets with Serbian officials
Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislative body, met with Serbian National Assembly Deputy Speaker Marina Ragus and Deputy Speaker Snezana Paunovic on Wednesday in Beijing.
Zhao said the NPC is willing to implement the strategic consensus of the two heads of state with the Serbian National Assembly, give full play to the role of mechanisms such as the cooperation committee between the legislatures of the two countries, strengthen exchanges at all levels, and consolidate the ironclad friendship.
The NPC is ready to promote pragmatic cooperation, push for the smooth implementation of the China-Serbia Free Trade Agreement, and promote people-to-people and local exchanges, he added.
The Serbian side expressed its willingness to work closely with the National People's Congress and contribute to building a Serbia-China community with a shared future in the new era.
