Xi, Malaysian king exchange congratulations on 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties

President Xi Jinping expressed his readiness on Friday to work with Malaysia's head of state to promote the building of a China-Malaysia community with a shared future to make new achievements to better benefit the two peoples and contribute to regional prosperity and stability.

Xi made the remarks when exchanging congratulatory messages with King of Malaysia Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

In the message, Xi said that China-Malaysia relations have always been at the forefront of China's relations with regional countries.

He highlighted the friendship between the two countries, saying that he recently received a letter jointly written by Malaysian students studying at Tianjin University, who are determined to act as communicators and promoters of bilateral friendship.

Xi said he is glad to see that friendship between China and Malaysia will be carried on over generations.

The Malaysian king highlighted robust bilateral cooperation in the economy, trade, investment and culture, as well as people-to-people exchanges, saying that Malaysia will always work hand in hand with China for common prosperity.

On the same day, Premier Li Qiang and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also exchanged congratulations.

Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang attended a banquet celebrating the 50th anniversary of China-Malaysia relations in Beijing on Friday.

Xi's article highlights new quality productive forces

An article on new quality productive forces by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, is published on Saturday.

The article by Xi, who is also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, is published in this year's 11th issue of Qiushi Journal, a flagship magazine of the CPC Central Committee.

Li meets United Arab Emirates president

Premier Li Qiang said on Friday that China and the United Arab Emirates should enhance practical cooperation to better achieve win-win and mutual benefits.

He made the remarks when meeting with President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Beijing on Friday.

China is willing to further expand two-way trade and investment with the UAE, bolster cooperation in traditional sectors and explore cooperation in emerging areas including new energy, he said.

The UAE president said the country adheres to the one-China principle, and is committed to further enhancing cooperation with China in areas such as joint Belt and Road cooperation to achieve more fruitful results in bilateral ties.
