Giant pandas Mei Xiang and Tian Tian and their young cub Xiao Qiji are settling in well at their new home in Sichuan after returning from the United States, according to the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda on Monday.

The center responded in its announcement to online allegations of "concealment and mistreatment" of the three giant pandas, stating that these claims are completely false.

The center has previously shared videos of the three giant pandas after their return to China on platforms like Weibo, in which Mei Xiang, Tian Tian and Xiao Qiji are in good health with normal eating and activity levels.

Mei Xiang, born in July 1998 at the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda's Wolong Shenshuping base in Sichuan, and Tian Tian, born in August 1997 at the same base, traveled together to the National Zoological Park in Washington DC, United States, in 2000.

Their cub, Xiao Qiji, was born in the US in August 2020. In November last year, the three pandas concluded their stay in the US and returned to Sichuan.
