Largest 'power bank' in eastern Zhejiang a step closer to operation

To ensure the project meets its deadline, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power utilized two helicopters to transport materials, making it the first domestic instance of two helicopters being used in tandem to transport construction materials for a power station and setting the logistics record of a single helicopter being used to transport over 800 metric tons of electric tower material.
To circumvent sensitive ecological areas and minimize disruptions to natural landscapes and ecosystems, precise geographic information systems and environmental assessment technologies were used to plan the specific location and route of the outbound project.
As the first large-scale pumped storage power station in the Ningbo-Shaoxing-Zhoushan region, the Ninghai Pumped Storage Power Station is a key construction project of the National Energy Administration from the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020).
With a total installed capacity of 1.4 million kV, the station is designed to generate an average of 1.4 billion kilowatt-hours per year and pump 1.867 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, further ensuring the safe, economical and stable operation of the Zhejiang power grid.
