Expert barista skills set to add flavor to flights

In cooperation with coffee brand One Box, Capital Airlines hired a senior barista to offer training to staff members in early April.
The move came after the Beijing-headquartered airline began upgrading its services across the board at the end of March.
To improve the quality of its in-flight catering services and provide passengers with a better travel experience, the airline's cabin services department established the "Coffee Studio in the Clouds". It is dedicated to researching and improving the quality of in-flight coffee, adding a touch of richness to passengers' moments when flying, according to the company.
In a recent coffee-making training program of coffee-making in Beijing, people who coach flight attendants and members of the company's support services departments learned professional coffee knowledge. The training delved into lessons of the origins, varieties and roasting processes of coffee beans and mastering coffee-brewing techniques and tasting methods.
"Hand-drip coffee is not just a beverage but also an art of life. Starting from selecting high-quality coffee beans to mastering precise grinding, water temperature and brewing time, every step embodies effort and wisdom," a participant in the training said.
"Our goal is to present first-class in-flight coffee quality, allowing passengers to enjoy a fine brew in the clouds," the trainees said.
It is reported that Capital Airlines' cloud artisanal coffee will be available on intercontinental flights departing from airports in Daxing, Beijing; Qingdao, Shandong province; and Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.
