Three injured in shootout in Philadelphia

NEW YORK -- A shootout at an Eid al-Fitr event on Wednesday afternoon in West Philadelphia, US state of Pennsylvania, has left three people injured, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

The shootout between two groups of people caused chaos, and people began to flee the scene.

Police said about 30 gunshots rang out. Three people were shot -- two in the crossfire between the factions, and one 15-year-old by a responding police officer.

Five people were in custody, including the teen who was shot by police.

West Philadelphia is a section of Philadelphia, the most populous city in Pennsylvania.
