The first batch of Xiaomi SU7 electric sedans was delivered to customers in 28 cities across China on Wednesday, ThePaper reported.

The booking volume of the vehicle has surpassed 100,000, and the confirmed bookings at 40,000, said Lei Jun, Xiaomi's founder and CEO during a delivery ceremony in Beijing.

Lei added that the volume of bookings showed consumer trust in the company, and urged the company to continue bringing products with better quality and services.

However, the booking volume has sparked concerns about Xiaomi's capability in delivery and productivity.

Xiaomi has been working on expanding its product capacity, and will be able to assemble each vehicle within 76 seconds when the line is at full productivity in its Yizhuang plant, the company told Thepaper.cn.

The launch of the SU7 has spurred price cuts in the NEV market, followed by brands including Nio, Huawei's Aito and Geely's Zeekr 007, said ThePaper.cn.
