The inaugural Wuyi Forum, held at Zhu Xi Park in Nanping, East China's Fujian province on March 22, was titled "The Two Integrations: Five Thousand Years of Chinese Civilization and Socialism With Chinese Characteristics". The forum aimed to facilitate the creative transformation and development of traditional Chinese culture.

Lin Shangli, president of Renmin University of China (RUC), emphasized the forum's commitment to exploring the rich connotations of the "Two Integrations" from various perspectives. He expressed confidence that the forum would reinvigorate traditional Chinese culture by infusing a sense of modernity.

Nanping intends to utilize the Wuyi Forum as a platform for close collaboration with RUC, leveraging the role of the Wuyi Institute of Chinese Civilization to strengthen academic partnerships with renowned domestic and international universities. This collaboration aims to bolster cultural confidence and showcase the charm of Chinese culture through an exploration of the "Two Integrations".

During the event, RUC, Nanping, and Wuyi University signed a cooperation agreement, officially launching the Wuyi Institute of Chinese Civilization. This collaborative institution, established by RUC and Nanping, integrates academic research, interpretation, and transformation, serving as one of the branches of the Institute of Chinese Civilization at RUC.

With a focus on the new cultural mission in the new era, the Wuyi Institute of Chinese Civilization aims to gather high-quality academic resources from both domestic and international sources. It seeks to delve deeply into Nanping's traditional culture, explore the relationship between 5,000 years of Chinese civilization and socialism with Chinese characteristics, and continually enhance the dissemination and influence of Chinese civilization through exchanges and mutual learning among diverse civilizations.
