Shanghai Cherry Blossom Festival enters full bloom

On the first weekend after the opening of the 2024 Shanghai Cherry Blossom Festival starting on March 11, Gucun Park in Baoshan district experienced its first peak of passenger flow, receiving a total of 94,525 tourist visits.
According to officials, more than 1,600 mu (107 hectares) of 120 types of cherry trees are now in full bloom in the park.
While Tairyo-zakura (Dayuying in Chinese) falling in the park forms a colorful pink "cherry blossom rain", Ceraus kanzakura (Dahanying in Chinese) is in its prime season, along with other early cherry blossoms in the park.
The landscapes surrounded by tulips and rapeseed flowers are new highlights of this year's cherry blossom festival and the inaugural Cherry Blossom Cup, a women's football invitational, will kick off on March 30 at the park.
Tickets can be purchased in advance through the WeChat account of Gucun Park, and the park opens from 6 am to 6 pm.
This festival will last until April 15.
