A conference was held in Beijing on Monday to discuss the advancement of employment in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region through support from Chinese central State-owned enterprises.

Ma Xingrui, Party secretary of Xinjiang, highlighted the strategic importance of Xinjiang and called for continued high-quality development of central SOEs in the region. He urged deeper strategic cooperation with Xinjiang, especially in its southern area, to focus on employment-driven development and implement major industrial projects and key livelihood programs.

Ma emphasized the need for central SOEs to play a significant role in Xinjiang's modernization, contributing to constructing a modern industrial system.

Zhang Yuzhuo, chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Xinjiang's development.

He outlined the strategy to optimize industrial cooperation, focusing on energy resource exploration, high-quality modern agriculture, emerging industries and cultural tourism. Zhang stressed the importance of expanding employment through industrial development and encouraged central SOEs to recruit local labor.
