Milan green energy forum fosters international cooperation

The "Insights into Green Energy" China-Italy New Energy Cooperation Forum, held in Milan on March 4, showcased the power of international collaboration in driving sustainable development and addressing global energy challenges.

The event was jointly organized by China General Technology Group's subsidiary, General Technology Italy, and the Italian branch of China National Machinery Import and Export Corporation in collaboration with the China Chamber of Commerce in Italy. It brought together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders from both countries to explore the potential for cooperation in the field of new energy.

Geng Xiewei, counselor at the Consulate General of China in Milan, highlighted the importance of Chinese companies' investments overseas and praised General Technology Italy for its leadership in China-Italy cooperation in the new energy sector.

"China has achieved positive results in the development of new energy, with wind power and photovoltaic products demonstrating strong competitiveness in the international market," he said. "Italy, as one of the leading countries in the European Union, has always attached great importance to green development. The foundation of China-Italy cooperation in the energy sector is solid, and the prospects are broad."

Yan Dong, CEO of General Technology Italy, outlined the opportunities and challenges in the Italian photovoltaic market. He emphasized General Technology Group's commitment to leveraging its comprehensive advantages in the new energy industry chain to foster collaboration between domestic manufacturers and local partners.

"We aim to shape the future by engaging in various segments and fields of the new energy industry chain, actively contributing to Italy's and Europe's energy transformation," Yan Dong added.

Fan Xianwei, secretary-general of China Chamber of Commerce in Italy,expressed gratitude for the collective exploration of new energy development and innovation. He emphasized the focus of the seminar on investment and financing in the photovoltaic industry and technological innovation.

Fan hoped that the forum would strengthen international cooperation and promote the global development of new energy technologies.

Marco Fedato, FDI Manager at Milano & Partners, regarded the cooperation forum as significant for exploring sustainable development in Italy's future. He expressed hope for further collaboration with the China Chamber of Commerce in Italy to attract additional Chinese-funded enterprises to invest and start businesses in Milan.

The forum facilitated in-depth discussions on various topics, including technological trends in photovoltaic and energy storage technologies and sustainable investment in large-scale ground-mounted photovoltaic power plants. The participants, representing Chinese and Italian developers, financing banks, independent power plant operators, consulting firms, and research institutions, shared their experiences, insights, and innovative solutions in the field of new energy.

During the discussions, participants explored the challenges and opportunities associated with renewable energy integration, the development of energy storage systems, and the optimization of photovoltaic efficiency. They also delved into the application of artificial intelligence, big data, smart grids, and intelligent energy management systems in the new energy industry.

The forum emphasized the importance of creating a favorable investment environment, promoting public-private partnerships, and leveraging financial instruments to attract more capital into the new energy sector. The discussions highlighted the significance of sustainable investment models, financing mechanisms, and risk management strategies for renewable energy projects.
