China to better guard industrial firms' data
China has released a three-year plan to enhance the protection of industrial firms' data. From 2024 to 2026, China will work to raise awareness of data protection, protect important industrial data, strengthen data security management at key enterprises, and enhance data protection in key scenarios, according to a plan released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The plan specifies 11 tasks to improve the country's ability to protect industrial firms' data, regulate data security and support the data security industry.
Warehouse storage sector expands
China's warehouse storage industry got off to a smooth start in 2024, with development remaining in expansionary territory, according to a survey released by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and CMST Development Co Ltd. The index tracking the sector's development came in at 51.2 percent in January, edging down 0.4 percentage point month-on-month. A reading above 50 percent indicates expansion, while a reading below 50 percent reflects contraction.
