During the tail end of the winter break, a group of Chinese and international students from the SILC Business School at Shanghai University embarked on a practical learning experience in the Lin-gang Special Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, delving into the area's high-quality development firsthand.

In the Yangshan Special Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Lin-gang, students were introduced to the unique "green channel clearance" policy, which has significantly reduced overall customs clearance time for goods to just two hours and lowered enterprise customs declaration costs by 50 percent, fostering broader trade and transport freedom.

In addition to experiencing Lin-gang's high level of openness, students learned about the area's new development forces at the special comprehensive bonded zone's planning and exhibition center.

The visible institutional innovations and vibrant development in Lin-gang have captured the interest of many foreign students. Angela, a student from Namibia who is set to graduate with a master's degree, expressed her enthusiasm for Lin-gang's trade policies and her desire to establish a trading company in China.

"Visiting Lin-gang has been very eye-opening. I've learned that the area is dedicated to attracting foreign investment and engaging in trade with other countries. I'm also very interested in the trade policies implemented here, and from what I've seen, they are very efficient. Hopefully in the future I will be able to start a business and collaborate with enterprises in Lin-gang, China, and other countries," she said.

Armed with their newfound insights, the students aim to analyze and apply what they learned, looking forward to potential opportunities for mutual growth in this thriving environment.
