Starbucks announces innovative flavor to celebrate Chinese New Year

A cup of latte flavored like braised pork is now available at Starbucks China as part of its innovative menu to celebrate the Chinese New Year festival.
The coffee house chain rolled out the new drink combining Dongpo Braised Pork Flavor Sauce with espresso and steamed milk, with more pork sauce and pork breast meat as a garnish.
The drink is priced at 68 yuan ($9.45) and is offered at around 25 Starbucks Reserve stores in the country. The photo of the drink shows a slice of pork on a skewer resting on the mug.
Other Starbucks' new Chinese New Year-inspired drinks include the date rice flavored Macchiato and black sesame latte.
The coffee market in China remains fiercely competitive with new products and collaboration emerging almost weekly. Last year, Luckin Coffee, the domestic coffee chain, teamed up with the country's top liquor maker Kweichow Moutai. Their first Moutai-flavored coffee proved a success, with Luckin selling 5.42 million cups and grossed 100 million yuan on the launch day.
