Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao will attend the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization, and strengthen cooperation among all parties, the ministry said on Thursday.

The MC13, which is scheduled to take place from Feb 26th to 29th in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, marks the first ministerial meeting since the launch of WTO reform, said He Yadong, the ministry's spokesman, at a news conference in Beijing.

China aims to facilitate more practical outcomes at the meeting that benefit all parties involved, He said, adding that China has been actively engaging in the reform of the WTO reform and supporting the organization in playing a more effective role.

Against the backdrop of sluggish global economic recovery, insufficient trade growth momentum and increasing global challenges such as food and energy security, the WTO stands as a vital pillar of multilateralism and an important platform for global economic governance. An organization making positive contributions in addressing the common challenges faced by the world, He said.

China advocates for inclusive and equitable economic globalization, adhering to genuine multilateralism and firmly upholding the multilateral trading system, He added.
