A large chicken-breeding and processing company in Zhucheng, a county-level city in Shandong province, has been equipped with advanced facilities and expects to further expand its operations this year, and also ramp up its demand for electricity.

"We use fully automated equipment to monitor and adjust the temperature, humidity, exhaust volume, water consumption, and light intensity, ensuring a favorable breeding environment 24/7," said the company's head. "All of that relies heavily on a stable power supply."

The enterprise has built four new breeding bases during the past year and the national grid's power supply company in Zhucheng has contributed significantly to that, by providing high-quality services.

Song Jianwei, director of the energy company's marketing department, said State Grid Corp of China has spared no efforts in promoting the development of the livestock industry in Zhucheng city during recent years.

Song said the electricity company regularly sends workers to visit leading companies in the local livestock industry, to better understand their needs and solve problems promptly.

The company is highly innovation-oriented and strives to provide personalized and intelligent services for all its clients, and also uses advanced technologies, including remote monitoring, to analyze power consumption and guide customers to use power more wisely, said Song.

When there is a new power supply project to launch, the company accurately calculates the power consumption of all electrical devices and keeps a close eye on the overall planning of the project, as well as the energy consumption pattern, which can help complete the project faster. In addition, to save more time, the company allows clients to submit application materials after project construction begins, Song added.

With the help of State Grid, this year the chicken breeding company expects to have a slaughtering capacity of 250 to 270 million broilers, and a poultry processing capacity of 700,000 metric tons.

According to Song, Zhucheng city has a very developed livestock industry, with a hog inventory of more than 1 million per year and a slaughter volume of white-feathered chickens of around 200 million. There are currently more than 2,200 companies in the local industry.

Song also said that, making use of the abundant livestock resources, 556 prepared food processing companies have settled in Zhucheng. The power supply company has provided high-quality services and suggestions for them as well, significantly improving the efficiency of their power use.

"The company has helped us save more than 40,000 yuan ($5,571) per month on electric bills," said Wang Guodong, manager of a local food company.

With China embarking on a new journey, all State-owned enterprises should give full play to their strengths and better meet the needs of local industries, contributing to the high-quality development of both local economies and Chinese society, said Li Yaoqiang, chairman of China National Salt Industry Group Co Ltd.
