Taicang welcomes 500th German firm
With plans to invest 100 million euros ($109.1 million), German logistics conveying equipment maker Beumer Group will settle in Taicang, Jiangsu province. Since the arrival of the first German enterprise in 1993, Taicang has attracted 500 German enterprises. The first 100 German enterprises came to Taicang in a span of 14 years, but it only took two years for the last 100 German enterprises to settle in the East China city, said Wang Xiangyuan, Party chief of Taicang.
EV charging piles see robust growth in 2023
China saw a 51 percent year-on-year growth in the number of public charging piles for electric vehicles in 2023. The number of public charging piles rose by 930,000 in 2023 from the previous year, said Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of the China Passenger Car Association. Nearly 2.46 million new private charging piles were added in 2023, Cui said.
