Domestic tourism set to grow remarkably by 2024

The China Tourism Academy estimates that domestic tourism will see a remarkable growth both in visitor numbers and revenue in 2024, allowing for the good recovery of the industry in 2023 and people's growing desire for traveling.
According to the latest report by the academy on Monday, China will see domestic visits reaching over 6 billion and tourism-related revenue exceeding 6 trillion yuan ($841 billion) in 2024. The confident prediction is based on the good recovery of supply chains of tourism services and tourism economy in 2023.
The nation's inbound and outbound tourism market will also mark a spike this year with the visitor number and revenue estimated to exceed 264 million and $107 billion respectively, according to the academy.
It said that the tourism industry will enter into a new development period with foreseeable prosperity in 2024 thanks to travelers' more reasonable consumption expectations and investors' growing confidence.
