Sihle Zikalala, minister of Public Works and Infrastructure of South Africa, said that China and South Africa can collaboratively build a relationship based on mutual respect and pragmatism. His remarks came in an interview during the Second China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Blue Economy Cooperation held in Kunming, Yunnan province earlier this month.

He said that this partnership aims to foster economic and trade development between the two countries, strengthen cultural exchanges, and contribute to the realization of sustainable development goals.

The forum offered an opportunity for different countries to dive into issues concerning ocean health, he added.
