Domestic offshore crude oil production in China is expected to reach 62.2 million metric tons this year, with an additional output of about 3.6 million tons, accounting for over 60 percent of the increase in crude oil production, according to the CNOOC Energy Economics Institute, a think tank that is part of China National Offshore Oil Corp. Offshore gas production is estimated to reach about 23.8 billion cubic meters, representing about 15 percent of the increase in natural gas production, it said.

Intercity railway project makes progress

The Shaoxing Rail Transit Intercity Railway project in Zhejiang province is moving toward completion. Workers recently completed the first cast-in-place beam of Jinkeqiao Avenue Station, laying a solid foundation for follow-up processes. The railway is a key project planned by Shaoxing to further boost local tourism. It is being partly built by China Railway 24th Bureau Group Corp (CR24), a unit of China Railway Construction Corp. CR24 said part of the intercity line has started operating to facilitate trips connecting Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Ningbo in the province.
