Slow trains offer convenience for livestock transport

The No 5633/5634 slow trains, running between Panzhihua city and Puxiong county of Southwest China's Sichuan province, cover 353 kilometers with an average speed of less than 40 km per hour. It stops at 27 stations along the journey, and fares range from 25.5 yuan ($3.59) to 2 yuan.
The slow train has delivered better opportunities such as employment, healthcare and education to residents along its route.
Passengers from the Yi ethnic group along the route transport livestock for sale and local specialties for family visits by this train.
To better serve the passengers, the railway departments transformed a luggage compartment into a carriage for transporting livestock.
When passengers board the train with livestock, railway staff will transfer the livestock to the specially designed carriage. A designated area within the carriage is set up for animals to excrete, thus maintaining a clean environment throughout the journey.
