The city of Qionglai, one of the country's Top 100 counties with comprehensive tourism strength located in Sichuan province in Southwest China, is boosting its cultural industries in innovative ways.

Qionglai, a county-level city administered by Chengdu, the provincial capital, boasts profound cultural heritages throughout its over 2,000 years of history. As one of the first batch of historical and cultural cities in Sichuan, Qionglai has made significant contribution in building the Ba-Shu civilization — the regional cultures of Sichuan Basin, and the Tianfu culture — the manifestation of Chengdu's mainstream urban values.

Currently, the city is bolstering its cultural industries through various ways, said the publicity department of Qionglai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), adding that the city netted in a regional GDP of 40.063 billion yuan ($5.48 billion) in 2022, a rise of 3.8 percent year-on-year, reaching a new milestone.

On Nov 16, the city launched a mini-lecture program at the local Shifang Academy, aiming to tell the story of Qionglai in a lively manner. Qionglai is also known for Zhuo Wenjun (175 BC-121 BC), a local celebrity known as one of the Four Great Talented Women in ancient China.

Over the years, a group of cultural and historical experts have dedicated themselves to the research of Qionglai's history and culture, resulting in a wealth of valuable research achievements.

To encourage more people to get to know about Qionglai and fall in love with it, the publicity department of the CPC Qionglai Municipal Committee launched the mini-lecture program, inviting local cultural and historical experts to share stories about the history and culture of Qionglai.
