Tencent reports rising revenue, net profit
Chinese internet giant Tencent reported year-on-year increases in both its top and bottom lines during the third quarter. Tencent raked in more than 154.6 billion yuan ($21.5 billion) in revenue over the period, up 10 percent year-on-year, according to the company's financial results. Net profit surged 39 percent to over 44.9 billion yuan in the July-September period.
High-tech makes up 90% of BJ listed firms
High-tech enterprises currently account for over 90 percent of companies listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange after the bourse launched some two years ago. Over the past two years, 229 companies have been listed on the platform, with a combined market value of over 280 billion yuan ($39.02 billion).
