New transport hub in Anhui gets HSR link

A major Chinese State-owned railway contractor achieved another milestone in building the nation's high-speed railway network as a new transportation hub under construction in Hefei, Anhui province, was connected recently to the HSR.Thanks to the efforts made by China Railway 24th Bureau Group Corp, the new Hefei West Railway Station was connected to the Hefei-Anqing High-speed Railway on Friday. The builder said it managed to link the station by overhauling old rails and laying new rails, with four operating routes being blocked during the five-hour construction period. The linkage will facilitate trips among cities in the central parts of the country, CR24 said.

Yangtze River Delta loan balance up 13%

The balance of loans in China's Yangtze River Delta region rose more than 13 percent year-on-year to 63.45 trillion yuan ($8.84 trillion) at the end of September, official data showed. The balance of loans in Chinese yuan stood at 62.41 trillion yuan, rising nearly 14 percent year-on-year, according to the People's Bank of China Shanghai Head Office. The balance of foreign currency loans in this region came in at $144.5 billion, down 21.5 percent year-on-year.
