An online freight platform company Huolala has been summoned by the industry's regulator on Friday, asking them to improve its operation and customer service to better protect drivers' legal rights and further enhance the company's management system, according to the Ministry of Transport.

Similar reminders have also been extended to other truck-hailing platforms including Didi Freight and Full Truck Alliance, according to the office which regulates China's transport new business forms. The office consists of 12 departments including the Ministry of Transport, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Central Political and Legal Commission, the Central Cyberspace Administration Office and the Development and Reform Commission.

According to the office, all truck-hailing platforms should further improve their enterprises' decision-making mechanisms and customer service systems, establish smooth channels for addressing drivers' appeals and better protect the rights and interests of drivers.

Companies were also urged to fulfill their corporate responsibilities, and resolutely safeguard the security and stable development of the industry.

Huolala said they will learn from the lesson and improve corporate management and better protect drivers' legal rights. Other platforms said they will fulfill their corporate responsibilities and will operate in compliance with laws and regulations, ensuring a fair and competitive market environment.

The companies had been summoned before since the truck drivers had been complaining that the platforms randomly adjust pricing rules, which led to vicious low-price competition.
