Li: China ready to promote high-quality cooperation with Tajikistan

Premier Li Qiang said on Thursday that China is willing to promote the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation with Tajikistan, complement each other with their respective industrial strengths and expand trade and investment.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda on the sidelines of the 22nd Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek.
Noting that the China-Tajikistan relationship has achieved fruitful results in recent years, Li called on the two countries to continue to take their all-around cooperation to new levels and better safeguard each other's strategic, security and development interests.
Li underlined the need for China and Tajikistan to enhance cooperation in transportation infrastructure, civil aviation and green economy and to deepen people-to-people exchanges in such areas as sports, culture and education.
Both sides should closely cooperate in multilateral affairs, implement the outcomes of the China-Central Asia Summit and strengthen cooperation within frameworks such as the United Nations and the SCO to uphold international fairness and justice, he added.
Rasulzoda appreciated China's strong support for his country's socioeconomic development and expressed the willingness to jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative with China and deepen cooperation in industry, agriculture, transportation, energy, among others.
Tajikistan is ready to work with China to promote the all-around cooperation between China and Central Asian countries and deepen collaboration within multilateral frameworks for regional peace and prosperity, he added.
