Innovation strength gathering steam

China saw a rapid rise in innovation capacity last year, with new growth drivers gathering momentum and injecting impetus into high-quality development, an index showed. The China Innovation Index, a barometer of the country's innovation capability, climbed 5.9 percent compared to the previous year to hit 155.7 in 2022, said the National Bureau of Statistics.

Jan-Sept fertilizer exports soar 31.6%

China exported 22.67 million metric tons of fertilizer from January to September, a surge of 31.6 percent year-on-year, said the General Administration of Customs. In September alone, the country exported 3.77 million tons of fertilizer, up 20.3 percent year-on-year.
