GAC invests in Didi autonomous driving

The autonomous driving unit of Didi Global Inc on Thursday announced an investment from Guangzhou Automobile Group Co Ltd, which is expected to help it accelerate research and development and the commercialization of its services. The investment, worth up to $149 million, will be made by GAC's wholly owned subsidiary GAC Capital Co Ltd, and Guangzhou Development District Investment Group Co Ltd, Didi said in a statement.

Treasury bonds worth 16b yuan to be issued

The Ministry of Finance will issue yuan-denominated treasury bonds worth 16 billion yuan ($2.23 billion) in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region later this month, the ministry said. Scheduled for Oct 25, it will be the third batch of renminbi treasury bonds issued by the ministry in Hong Kong this year. Detailed issuance arrangements will be announced at the Central Moneymarkets Unit, a central securities depository for debt securities owned and operated by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

Shanghai to hold biopharma week

International Biopharma Industry Week Shanghai 2023, to be held from Monday to Friday, aims to further promote the industry's high-quality development, said local authorities. The city has developed the biomedicine sector as its key industry for three decades and counting, with overall biomedicine industrial output growing from less than 5 billion yuan ($696 million) to nearly 200 billion yuan today.
